First of all, the winner of the popchips is Leanne!
Next, as you've probably noticed, the site has a new design. I want to thank my friends Jessica and Kristine for their help with the new photography and layout.
Finally, the pizza. When Kristine came over today to work on the site, we made some pizza for lunch. I made a batch of pizza dough from Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook and figured we'd come up with toppings based on the contents of my fridge.
We ended up topping the pizza with homemade pesto from the freezer, shredded fontina and parmigiano reggiano cheeses, yellow bell peppers and sliced asparagus. For baking pizza, I usually preheat my oven to 500 degrees - the longer it preheats, the better. When it's time to cook the pizza, I slide it onto a baking stone and lower the oven temperature to 450 degrees. I find that the pizzas are generally ready in about 15 minutes.
This was delicious, although I have to admit, it's hard to go wrong with homemade pizza!
Love your new look! The pizza looks delicious. Congrats to Leanne!

ReplyDeleteNice redesign Sara! :) Asparagus on pizza is so nice. I made an asparagus and triple cream brie pizza once and even the hardened carnivores liked that one the best lol
ReplyDeleteThe pizza looks delish! Can't go wrong with homemade pizza, and I love the new look of your blog!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I opened your blog, I thought: that looks like a new design. Glad I am not going crazy :)

Congrats on your great new look!

ReplyDeleteSite looks great! Pizza looks great!!
ReplyDeleteThe new design for your site is fantastic! Love the delicious-looking pizza!
ReplyDeleteNice design, fabulous pizza! Mmm yummy.
ReplyDeleteIt's true -- it IS hard to beat home-made pizza. First, the aroma of the dough baking in the oven just sets the mood so perfectly. Second, you can top your pizza with whatever your heart desires. Three, you don't have to worry about having to eat a lukewarm pie. And four, in this chilly, wet weather, there are few nicer ways to make the house so warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteAwesome new look Sara...it's beautiful. And that pizza is moreish; as yummy as can be.
ReplyDeleteOh Sara the pizza looks divine, I made one for V-day but I wonder if I should double the dough to get a luscious fat crust like yours..
ReplyDeleteI love the new design -- the header is great! I was actually trying to come up with a new design for my blog this weekend, but wasn't as successful. My friend promised to help me with it, but I might just have to bake him a pizza like the beautiful one you made before that happens!
ReplyDeleteI like your new site design, and the pizza - looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty is your new blog layout. Very!! Pizza looks awesome. I really have to make my own dough. Maybe this weekend.
