If you asked me to name my favorite cookbook, I’d be hard pressed to come up with just one. I have so many, and they all serve their purpose – how do you compare a bread baking book to a book about thai food? However, there is one book that gets used more than any other, and that’s the Everyday Food cookbook. I refer to it so often that the binding is broken and the pages are falling out. It’s just good, simple food that can be prepared in a reasonable amount of time. There are no specialty ingredients required, and most of the dishes are relatively healthy. I’ve made dozens of recipes from this book and they’ve all been great.
My latest success was chicken with sage and prosciutto. Chicken cutlets are topped with a sage leaf and wrapped in a slice of prosciutto. The cutlets are dredged in seasoned flour and sautéed until golden brown. The chicken is finished with a simple pan sauce of white wine, chicken stock, butter and sage. I went with the suggested side dish of spinach with golden raisins.
This was quite good, and on the table in less than 30 minutes. It doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to quick and easy weeknight cooking.

Your chicken looks gorgeous! I make a recipe where I stuff the chicken with a goat cheese & sundried tomato mixture and then wrap it in prosciutto; it looks very similar to yours.
What a gorgeous sounding combo. I think the proscuitto would help keep the chicken moist too. Great dish!
That looks delicious! You got a beautiful brown color on the chicken -- I'm going to have to add this to my list of recipes to try...
Less than 30 minutes and looks delicious? That's a perfect dish :)
Hi Sara, I just know how delish this chicken is, because it has my favorite prosciutto. Sage add really nice touch to the dish too.
Cheers,
Elra
oh yummooo..I want it right away Sara..what a lovely look..:)
That looks fantastic! I love prosciutto!
This looks great! I can't remember the last time I had prosciutto, I will have to try this! Thanks!
Sounds great! Those are some of my favorite ingredients. What a delicious dinner!
Can't go wrong with fresh sage at all - that looks really good. I love any meal that can be on the table fast during the week - I do a prosciutto wrapped halibut fillet that's the same idea.
I love this cookbook too and have had my eye on this one. I'll have to definitely try this one after hearing your reviews.
Um, this looks delicious! I love new ways to fix up boring old chicken. Can't wait to try this one!
Your chicken looks delicious! I love the versatality that there is with chicken breasts and the plus is they cook quick.Looks perfect with spinach!
That looks delish! I must get that book!
I love that chicken wrapped in prosciutto! Also, great idea to add the golden raisins to the spinach (I'm totally borrowing it to make for my daughter!)
An awesome dish! Really delicious looking!
Cheers,
Rosa
What a gorgeous looking dish Sara! I'd love to try this.
Could it get any better. The chicken looks perfectly cooked and delicious. Love the flavors!
you always create such mouth-watering dishes!
Really looks fabulous! And less than 30 minutes is my kind of cooking!
Prosciutto and sage go SO well together. This chicken looks fantastic!
Sounds like a wonderful meal! Love the use of prosciutto.
Chicken is only appealing to me when it's been "doctored" - ie. covered in cheese and sauce or rolled in some bacon like meat. This will work perfectly!!
That looks lovely.
This looks amazing Sarah! The prosciutto - drool! This is efinitely a top-shelf meal!
Ooh I can't wait to try this!! I really need to be using that cookbook more.
That book is great to get ideas for what to make for dinner. Your chicken sounds great!
I love Everyday Food SO much! That looks so simple and insanely delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Sounds like the perfect dish. I need to get myself a copy of that book.
Looks delicious! I don't use enough sage in my cooking...I need to get some in there.
Delicious looking dish! I love meals that come together quickly.
I love cookbooks and will have to check this one out.
This sounds delicious! I love the flavor of proscuitto, especially when it's combined with chicken. I found a roll of fresh mozzarella wrapped in proscuitto at the grocers the other day, and I can't get enough of it! Will have to add this to my list to make, especially since it's ready in 30 minutes. Thanks for sharing!
Wowo that looks super delicious. Sage is a herb which i have not used that much.
I love sage, and you know, I don't use it that much. I need to change that.
But your dish does look really good. I would be happy to try this recipe out for sure.
Sage is such a great herb!
Wow, that does look delicious! Yum yum.
I do a really similar thing but I make a paste of garlic, thyme and salt and rub it on the chicken before I wrap it.
This picture looks beautiful. I have been eyeing this recipe in that cookbook for awhile and now I will make it!
Yum, that looks & sounds good. I have that cookbook & have actually made a couple of desserts from it though I've made some of their dishes from the magazine. Everything I've made has been really good. I guess I should break it out to look at again.

so many delicious things in that meal and so GORGEOUS!! i love cooking with wine...sometimes i even add it to my food! haha, sorry for a cheesy joke, but i couldn't resist!
This looks really good... will have to keep this one in mind :)
That sounds really good! Love prosciutto and chicken!
that looks really wonderful. Even more wonderful than teriyaki thighs. :) You do a great job of photographing everything as well.
That crispy texture is awesome. Just beautiful
That chicken wrapped in prosciutto looks so tasty!
That looks absolutely delish, Sara. Great flavors with the sage and prosciutto.
Lovely and beautiful colours you have achieved here.
Gorgeous recipe and full of flavour.
Have a great Valentines x
I love prosciutto. This looks fabulous!
Have a great and happy weekend!
Your blog is super. So are your photographies. They make me hungry. I have spent a nice moment when seeing them. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the book suggestion! Always looking for a good and easy cookbook. I have so many but I do like a good basic one. Happy Valentine's Day Sara!
I wish my man would eat red meat so I could wrap things in prosciutto! I love the stuff, but he wont touch it. He's missing out :)
Anything with prosciutto always has my attention. I've also been really into adding sage to things lately.
I made a dish very much like this for my mother's birthday last year. I can only make it for a crowd because my husband is the anti-me. He won't touch prosciutto. I had to make one piece without the ham for him.
Yumm! Chicken is delicious anytime of day. Lunch or dinner I always have it in table.
Proscuitto to the rescue! Doesn't it always make everything look so pretty and taste so good?
Sara, I love this dish. It looks amazing all wrapped in Prosciutto. I bet it adds a lot of flavor. I find Chicken breasts to be a bit dry. So, this must really help. Love it!
everyday food is one of my favorite shows and magazines, so i imagine the cookbook would be quite useful. this is an elegant and fantastic dish!
That looks absolutely gorgeous!! Many thanks for callig by my blog lovely to *see* you :D
Looks great! I love chicken saltimbocca.
This picture looks so good, makes my mouth water!!
We love proscuitto. I agree with Lorraine that it would keep the chicken moist too.
Sam
Wow I did not see this post, it looks delicious, no... fabulous. Oh I bet the chicken was so moist!
That looks so good and you're making me hungry, but it's time for bed..dang it!
This sounds incredible! I will have to bookmark this to make soon! I soooooo love prosciutto!
Always looking for a way to do chicken - and anything with prociutto gets my vote. Reminiscent of chicken saltimbocca. I thiink this will be made this week. Even have the sage.
