Chocolate chip cinnamon banana bread

Chocolate and bananas is a classic combination. I also really like chocolate with cinnamon, so I put everything together in one recipe. The cinnamon adds a hint of spice, but doesn't overpower the flavor of the chocolate and bananas.

Chocolate chip cinnamon banana bread
Makes 1 loaf

2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 and 1/2 cups mashed banana
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. Beat the butter and sugar with a mixer in a separate bowl until well blended and fluffy. Add eggs, beat to combine. Add banana, buttermilk and vanilla, beat to combine. Add flour mixture and stir until all of the ingredients are mixed together thoroughly. Stir in chocolate chips. Coat a 8.5" by 4.5" loaf pan with cooking spray. Bake for 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the bread comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, remove from pan. Cool completely on a wire rack.
